Great interview with U2 (16/12/1988). At the end they play an acoustic version of John Lennon’s Happy X-Mas (war is over)

‘Cause they care more about selling records nowadays than creating great music. Right now, they’ve gone off the original mission of writing more original non-mainstream music because NLOTH didn’t hit the charts enough. U2 is not as it was.

Yeah I noticed that too, and the Edge talks a bit more now than he used to. They must have swaped roles.

I just noticed how Adam has been more quiet lately, he used to talk a lot more in interviews, like this one for example…

It’s interesting seeing the guy ask them what was next after Rattle And Hum, knowing that in 3 years, they were going to chop down the Joshua Tree with Achtung Baby.

“We’re not going to do any more long tours.” lol Bono! Thanks for posting, great interview!

He hasn´t changed at all. He just has completely lost fear to popular success.
They don´t write or play music to be in magazines. The fact they are is a random thing.

It’s so nice to see Bono saying that selling more records is not an artistic achievement or a virtue. He’s really changed now.

It is funny how they are taking shots at each other!
