I am going to be an 8th grader this coming year at ferguson, i can’t wait to be in the band in high school. i love how we are so much bigger than all the other bands, but we still rock just as much

Are all the bands around your area this big and this good?
Yeah, we love watching other bands like ours (no tryouts, *cool* music) perform, and we tend to consider ourselves separate from the Shostakovitch, tryouts based bands. Yours is the first band like us to beat us this year, and you deserved the win, in my opinion. Both bands did well.
I wished that I could have gone to that contest. I’m a Houston alumni personally. I miss it very much…
Yeah – we placed 1.9 points behind Houston last night, and they were AMAZING. I am not ashamed to lose to that band, and the judges seemed to think we were pretty close.
Yep, our tenors (we call em quints) have snares attached.
Hmmm… It seems that Houston does the same thing. Not do tryouts and just let anyone who wants to join, join.
I noticed that you all don’t march any snares, I’m guessing that the tenors have snares attached as well?
To comment on the earlier posts, people, trying to judge a band by a you tube video is absolutely ludicrous. If you had any musical knowledge at all maybe you would know that. Second of all this show wasn’t easy if done correctly it was actually quite difficult. We don’t march and then stop and then play while we are stopped like Centerville and the other bands listed. Since it is a you tube video you can’t hear some of the hard parts or to see all of the drill moves.
Actually, as a member of this band, I’d like to comment on your post – Our band seems to teeter between easy show with fairly good execution (like this one) and hard show with poor execution (The show after this one, Led Zeppelin).
We also don’t do tryouts, so some of the individual mistakes are the result of individual stupidity.
Our current show seems to have found a good balance, but since we don’t do tryouts, we’re handicapped by weaker members and 60+ freshmen. No offense, freshmen.
that’s not really what you said, but I actually agree on that, the sousa section leader and I discuss so many things we could do if we were a drum corps. but we’re not.. so things don’t look as cool as we wish they did
I never said the band sucked or anything…i just think its sad that a director of a band with so much potential cant put more out there with more of a challenge and such…

first of all..I was asking for YOU individually to write the drill and music..but I idrc anymore b/c it’s kinda stupid to argue about this anyway…you’re entitled to your opinion…
Yea I listed those bands because their choreography, music, and drill is better….
O.o I told you listing better bands is EASY…what I meant is, for you to WRITE drill music and choreography that is better…
hmmm…ok…Avon, LD Bell, Kennesaw Mountain, Kiski, PCEP, Centerville, Jenison, Central Crossing, Ronald Reagan HS, Marcus HS, Tarpon Springs, Lassiter, Norwin, Marian Catholic, Harrison, West Johnston, North Penn, Bellbrook, Northmont…sorry but the main thing lacking in this show is Execution….this band is a good “football band” tho
drill choreography and a band that can execute it well..i kno there are better bands..thats ez..
