U2 Tears Up Tiny Boston Stage Published by MTV News on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 12:01 am. By Benjamin Wagner newsroom.mtv.com It was the worst-kept secret in Boston, and for good reason. The Worlds Biggest Band was tearing up one of Beantowns most-intimate venues, and everyone wanted a piece. As a kid from Iowa whos life was changed by The Joshua Tree, I was no exception. All around the 900-seat Somerville Theater, thousands of chattering fans queued behind barricades for a fleeting glimpse of the band. One woman plead to Sway through tears as he endeavored to deliver a stand-up. Traffic stalled. Police lights flared. It was chaos. Inside, the tiny, one-time vaudeville theater was ready to blow. Sway only added to the frenzy, briefly introducing the band then ushering them onto the stage as only he could with his extra-long, extra-emphatic vowels. Give it up for Uuuuuuuuuuuuu Twoooooooo! And with that, The Edge attacked the already-familiar fuzz-guitar intro of Get On Your Boots, and it was on. Bono marched in place like some 21st century general calling his troops to muster. This is where it all began, he said as The Edges feedback momentarily faded. Right here in Boston. Just as quickly, though, The Edge signaled go-time with the thickly-distorted intro to Magnificent. The audience of radio-contest winners and uber-fans cheered wildly as Bono sang, I was born to sing for you, the Moroccan-origins of the track especially evident in his turn of a vowel. AMAZING SONG
Hey @cartman651, that thought never entered my mind. I’ll defer to your superior knowledge on such things and take your word for it. You must be an expert in such matters.

AMAAAAAAAAAAAZING
its funny though .. the only song I was dissapointed was this one and it sucks cause I LOVE THIS SONG. i didnt really like the way they did it.. but still It was awsome and the concert was life changing!! this coming from a 14 yr old
Great musicians, best people
You saw them twice? You’re lucky! I saw them at the first concert in Amsterdam. The concert was awesome!
Peace!
Well coming from a person who probably dislikes dance/club music more than you, for some reason when U2 fool around with that stuff it just freaking rules. I also agree that some of the versions I have seen online of crazy did sound a little all over the place. I saw them both nights at Giants Stadium and it sounded awesome.Peace
)
Each to his own. I like the fact that U2 are trying to do new things and I love Popmart. I’m not into dance/ club styles and I thought the live dance version of the song sounded rather messy, but you could see the boys had a lot of fun playing it and giving it all.
The concert was amazing!
From a song I wasent too crazy about when I bought the album…. it became a song I wanted to hear live by the time I saw them….then I find out they are playing this RAVE DANCE VERSION which I was a little disapointed about but by the first night seeing it live THAT ALL CHANGED! That live version is amazing! Traces of Popmart
) …. This song can do no wrong. Have you listened to the dirty south remix? I keep it on repeat for hours lol.
I’ll be very direct. For me, U2s music is one of the few things I find worth holding on to in this fucked up world.
You gotta love that guitar solo near the end by The Edge.
