I’ve never, ever heard that Bono and Edge had a huge fight. Flanagan’s ‘U2 at the End of the World’, which chronicles the Zoo T.V. era, doesn’t either – and he details the entire drunk Adam episode quite candidly.

Really? Bono has said that it’s a song about about heroin addiction, but you can read anything into Bono’s lyrics. These shows in Australia were interesting for a lot of reasons but mostly because they masked the band a breaking point. Bono and Edge had a huge fight after this show in Adelaide and Bono punched Edge in the face. Adam ended up in hospital with alcohol poisoning a few nights after in Sydney and missed the 1st Sydney gig.

One of the greatest guilty pleasures I confess to having listened to a lot but not enough. MacPhisto’s just got style. Love that sinister look at 3:17. Incidentally does anyone know if those echo-y noises in the chorus (that are also in the album version) are from the Edges guitar or is someone doing it backstage like the keyboard piano in ‘Lemon’ that follows this song?
Not the biggest fan of this tune but this sounds amazing. Just wish when a band release a DVD they did not let sound engineers and management mess with the raw sound as this is far better than Sydney as it really IS LIVE.
